THE FAMILY ABOARD

YOUR #1 FAMILY TRAVEL RESOURCE

The Family Abaord - a family travel blog featuring travel guides, itineraries, packing lists and more.

Iconic trips. Nap-friendly plans. Core memories unlocked.

Hey, I’m Sophie — a full-time working mom who plans trips when kids are asleep and travels when school’s out.

Here, you’ll find real-life family travel tips to help you make the most of your time off — without burnout, a nanny, or needing a gap year to make it happen.

Because family travel shouldn’t feel overwhelming, even if you’re juggling work, dance recitals, school calendars, and runny noses! It should fit your real life and your family’s needs — with nap breaks, downtime, and yes, space for iconic moments too.

Whether you’re mapping out Paris with a stroller, trying to figure out how to survive the flight with your kids, or finding the best stopover playground on a road trip — you’re in the right place.

Meet the mom behind The Family Aboard

Hi, I’m Sophie — a mom of two who’s been traveling with my kids since they were babies.

Over the years, we’ve taken 25+ flights, explored cities like Paris and Rome multiple times, and learned (sometimes the hard way 😅) what actually makes family travel easier… and what doesn’t.

I’m not here to show you “perfect” trips. I’m here to make you feel confident, prepared, and actually enjoy traveling with your kids — without the stress, overwhelm, or second-guessing.
Because yes… you can travel with kids and love it.
